Mary Finlayson is a Vancouver based artist. Her artwork is both personal and social focusing on issues such as gender and identity. Her work has been shown in galleries across the country including the Agnes Etherington Arts Center, the Modern Fuel Gallery in Ontario, CityScape Gallery, On the Rise, The Autumn Brook Gallery, The Red Galleria, The Jem Gallery, Beaumont Studios as well as several others. She has participated in several group shows including Citizens for Peace at Rip Star in San Francisco, The Montreal Massacre Memorial at the Vancouver Public Library, Out of the Rain: Roundhouse Gallery, Broken Values: Cityscape Gallery as well as several others. Her work has been featured in publications including Syndicus: Contemporary Social Issues in which she was featured artist, Signs: Women in Culture and Society, IRIS: 50th Edition Milestone Issue in which she was the featured artist, Hobo Magazine, and several others. She is currently represented by the Autumn Brook Gallery in Vancouver, B.C. She has a BFA in painting and printmaking, and a graduate degree in Art Therapy, as well as an Education degree specializing in Art from the University of British Columbia.
